Credentials Awarded Upon successful completion of the Barbering Program – 1,000 Clock Hours, and after fulfilling all graduation requirements, students will be awarded a: Certificate of Completion in Barbering This certificate signifies that the graduate has met the academic and practical training requirements established by Empresarios Barber College LLC and is eligible to apply for the California State Board Barbering Licensure Examination. Graduates who successfully pass the State Board Examination will be issued a California Barber License, which is required to practice as a licensed barber in the State of California. 

Admission Requirements

To enroll in the Barbering Program at Empresarios Barber College LLC, applicants must meet the following admission requirements:

  1. Be at least 17 years of age at the time of enrollment.
  2. Provide proof of completion of the 10th grade or its equivalent. Acceptable documentation includes:
    • High school transcript
    • High school diploma
    • GED certificate
    • CHSPE certificate
    • Equivalent documentation from a foreign institution may require translation/evaluation
  3. Provide a valid government-issued photo identification, such as a Driver License, State ID, Passport, or Military ID.
  4. Provide a Social Security Number or ITIN required for State Board licensure.
  5. Complete an enrollment application and participate in an admissions interview with school staff.
  6. Review and sign the Enrollment Agreement prior to the first day of instruction.
  7. If the student is under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must co-sign the Enrollment Agreement.
  8. English Requirement: Instruction is provided in English. If English is not the applicant’s primary language, the institution will take reasonable steps to ensure the applicant can understand the terms of the Enrollment Agreement before signing.
  9. Ability-to-Benefit (ATB) Students:
    • The institution does not accept Ability-to-Benefit students who have not completed the 10th grade or its equivalent.
  10. Transfer Students:
    • Transfer hours may be considered with official transcripts and administrative approval. Hours must be evaluated prior to enrollment. Transfer acceptance is not guaranteed.

Admission is open to any applicant who meets the above requirements and demonstrates the ability and willingness to comply with school policies, conduct, attendance standards, and financial obligations.

LICENSURE ELIGIBILITY

This program is designed to prepare students for licensure as a Licensed Barber in the State of California. Licensure is issued by the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. To be eligible to apply for the California Barber Licensing Examination, an applicant must:

  1. Be at least 17 years of age.
  2. Have completed the 10th grade in a public school or its equivalent.
  3. Complete 1,000 clock hours in a Board-approved barbering program.
  4. Complete all required practical operations as mandated by the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.
  5. Submit a completed application for the Barber Licensing Examination.
  6. Pay all required State Board application and examination fees.
  7. Provide a valid government-issued photo identification.
  8. Provide a Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).
  9. Pass the Written Examination administered by the Board.
  10. Pass the Practical Examination administered by the Board.
  11. Disclose any criminal convictions if applicable and provide documentation as required by the Board.
  12. Meet all additional documentation requirements requested by the Board.

Completion of the Barbering Program at Empresarios Barber College LLC does not guarantee licensure. The California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology is the sole authority responsible for issuing licenses in the State of California.

Refund Policy

A student has the right to cancel the enrollment agreement and obtain a refund of charges paid through attendance at the first class session or the seventh day after enrollment, whichever is later. Please see the Catalog and Enrollment Agreement for the full refund policy.
